Adiabatic Air Blast Cooler

No Aerosol - No water treatment - No problem

Coolers consist of copper tube and aluminium fin epoxy coated blocks (alternative materials available), direct drive axial fansets, galvanised steel casing, stainless steel collection tray, local fan isolators, and variable fan control as standard.
Adiabatic Cooler System

Carter adiabatic coolers do not create an aerosol or wet the surface of the coil. Adiabatic cooling is achieved by mains water distributed over an evaporative cooling media through which the incoming air passes through. The cooled dry air then passes onto the coil for cooling. This method in turn prolongs the coil life by reducing coil fouling and negates the need for expensive mains water treatment.

Units are available in one to four fans as single coolers as standard.

Optional extras include attenuation package, stainless steel casing, winter coil heater package, skid mounted cooler and pump sets.

Adiabatic Cooler Features

  • No risk of Legionella
  • No Aerosols
  • Coil surface remains dry and clean
  • No fouling of coils, prolonging coil life and maintains thermal efficiency
  • No need for filters, pre-filters, UV lamps and their regular maintenance
  • No water treatment
  • Easy to maintain
  • No water samples required
  • Low plant operating costs
  • Low water consumption
  • Low power consumption
  • Not subject to complex regulations
  • No form filling

Operation – Adiabatic Cooler

  • When there is insufficient cooling from the fans alone, the evaporative cooling media will be saturated
  • The fans draw the warmer air across the saturated pad, which cools the air by evaporation
  • The cooler air then crosses the coils, cooling the process water further
  • The surplus water is collected in the stainless steel collection tray, and re-circulated back to the distribution header, to mix with fresh mains water
  • On a daily basis the surplus water is drained to ensure there is no stagnant water

Operation – Dry Cooler

  • The fans draw cooling air across the evaporative cooling media and then the heat exchanger, cooling the process water running inside the coils
  • The fans are brought in automatically as further cooling is required to reach the preset water outlet temperature
  • The air is exhausted vertically

A. Quick release access panel to gain internal access to the plenum chamber and for inspection of the coils.

B. Quick release retainer clip which allows access to the water dispultion system. This also allows the ease of removal of the evaporative cooling media.
